Welcome to Our Blog

Thank you for visiting our class blog! The purpose of our blog is for families to see all the exciting learning that takes place in our classroom. In a play based Kindergarten program students don't bring home a lot of "work", however they are constantly working as they figure out how to make their tower more stable or why the their playdough has changed from yellow to green. Our hope is that this blog will keep you up to date with what is going on in our class and give you a peek into your child's days at school. We hope you enjoy it!

Here is an example of some of the writing that is emerging in our classroom.

Working hard to print our names - even the long ones!

Each morning students "sign in" after they have unpacked their bag.  This part of our routine gives students a job to do while their wait for announcements and it also gives them a extra chance to work on printing their name.

Students made posters with colour words and put them up on the wall so they can use
them when they need to spell a colour word.

 "My House"
Writing about trains

Looking at pictures of tarantulas to draw for the letter T - eeek!

Writing about our lego creations: "Very weird castle".

We are working hard to print our names using 1 upper case letter at the beginning and the rest in lower case.

One day last week the teachers didn't get their before school jobs done so students had a write the morning message.

They worked together using our visual schedule and our popcorn words to write the message.

We think they did such a great job we can start sleeping in a bit later!
